HOW TO PERFORM
How to perform
The Man Maker is a full-body dumbbell movement that combines several patterns into one sequence. It usually includes lowering to the dumbbells, controlling the body in a plank, standing back up, and finishing with an overhead press. It is a demanding movement for both muscular and metabolic endurance.
How to Perform
- Start standing with two dumbbells in the hands.
- Lower with control and place the dumbbells on the floor.
- Jump or step the feet back into a strong plank.
- Perform the required push-up or brief plank phase if programmed.
- Bring the feet back toward the dumbbells.
- Stand up, bring the dumbbells to the shoulders, and finish with an overhead press.
Coaching Tips
- Prioritize smooth transitions before you try to move fast.
- Keep the hips steady and the trunk braced in the plank.
- If fatigue builds quickly, slow the movement down and stay organized.
Programming Use
The Man Maker is commonly used in conditioning pieces or finishers and fits high-demand metabolic training well.
